The world of anime is no stranger to anime couples. The world of relationships is filled with humor, embarrassment, jealousy, cuteness, and much more. Here, we take a look at some of the greatest anime couples ever!
1. Usui and Misa from Kaichou wa Maid-sama! (Maid Sama!)
MAL: 8.07
After becoming student president of a formerly all-boys school, Misaki Ayuzawa is given the name ‘Demon President’ due to her strict disciplinary style. Alternatively, Takumi Usui is the nonchalant school heartthrob who rarely exerts any effort in his day to day life. As if by fate, Usui one day happens on Misa’s dark secret, as he enters into a maid café only to discover Misa is one of the staff members (forced to work part-time to help her family pay their bills).
With Usui holding all the cards, how will he torment Misa? Firmly in control, he has the power to blackmail her. However, he instead uses this rare opportunity to uncover the caramel center that lies beneath the Demon President’s steadfast exterior.
Those who have ever suffered through the pain of high school embarrassment, will feel Misa’s pain throughout this series. Evolving from someone very timid and afraid of romance into an accepting adult, willing to confess her emotions, is a stage in life we will all have to cross eventually.
Moreover, it can be easy to become complacent with oneself, disregarding the need for romance due to a focus on career or educational goals. Misa herself has her hands full with school and her work, so much so that it causes her to faint due to stress. Finding a good balance between work and pleasure can be difficult but finding the right person to help carry the load is what being in a relationship is all about and, as far as anime couples go, Usui and Misa manage to do so effortlessly.

2. Yuuta and Rikka from Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai! (Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions!)
MAL: 7.78
Rikka and Yuuta’s relationship is the epitome of young love. Rife with embarrassment, new emotions and the inability to convey those feelings audibly, Rikka and Yuuta struggle to accept their love for the majority of the first season. Young love can often be a tumultuous situation and, unlike Misa and Usui, there is no one here properly equipped to take hold of the reins this time.
I’m sure you can remember your first crush and how awkward it would be to interact with them or how jealous you would be to see them talking with someone else. Rikka and Yuuta fall into all the same trappings as the rest of us during our youth. However, when they mature enough by the end of the season to profess their love, they are rewarded with a more adult relationship (more adult in the sense that they upgraded from prolonged stares to handholding – let’s not get carried away, people). Take a lesson from one of the greatest anime couples. The worst your crush could say is no, right?
3. Naruto and Hinata from Naruto Shippuden
MAL: 8.16
Naruto and Hinata are the grandparents of the anime couples. The couple every other pairing looks to for advice wants to grow up to be. I’m sure many of you have either looked towards your parents or grandparents and thought, “they are made for each other – that is true love!” This notion of a perfect relationship is ingrained to use from birth and it is only when we test it out for ourselves that we realize love is more complicated than that.
Yet, the motivation from that perfect couple never wavers. Looking at the peak of the mountain and seeing Naruto and Hinata stood next to your future wife or husband is all the incentive you need to trudge through a slew of blind dates and accidental tinder matches in hopes of finding your soulmate. Your perfect partner is out there. Just be sure to never stop looking. Even in the world of Shounen-adventure anime-ninja star-Rasengan-Jutsu-Boruto’s dad, anime couples still managed to blossom. Never give up – make that your ninja way. Believe it!
4. Ryuuji and Taiga from Toradora!
MAL: 8.26
Taiga and Ryuuji start their relationship not as a romantic couple but as partners in crime as they each attempt to set the other up with their crush. However, over time, the two grow fond of each other and realize that the one they had been looking for had been right in front of them all along.
Sometimes the person you think you like is actually quite baseless. The person who you want to be with is the one who is going to show up and help you, without even needing to ask. Ryuuji proves time and again his willingness to help Taiga and Taiga comes to learn that this is the kind of man she wants in her life.
5. Celty and Shinra from Durarara!
MAL: 8.19
Who said two heads were better than one? Celty and Shinra put that notion to bed by becoming one of the most adorable anime couples. One would assume Celty to be completely disinterested in romantic affection what with her badass role as a motorcycling Dullahan. That’s why it is all the more surprising when we see her open up to Shinra and confess her feelings for him.
It can be easy to become reserved and complacent. Perhaps past rejection or childhood trauma keep you from opening up about your feelings, in fear of receiving the familiar pang of disappointment. Celty was certainly wary when Shinra began his advances, however she allowed herself to become vulnerable and gained a loving relationship because of it. Entering into a relationship opens oneself up to the possibility of being emotionally hurt. That is a risk everyone has to take but should you find the right person, that worrying will soon fade into nothingness.
6. Kirito and Asuna from Sword Art Online
MAL: 7.28
Anime couples are abundant in our world so everyone’s favorite OTP had to make an appearance at some point on this list. Love doesn’t always need to stem from physical attraction or emotional connection. Oftentimes it can also evolve from shared experiences. Having gone through such an amazing journey (or incredibly traumatic depending on how you look at it), Kirito and Asuna found themselves relying on each other to help get through their days in SAO.
While it cannot be good to enter into a relationship to cure one’s depression, relationships are a two-way street. When you have a tough day at work or a hard day on the battlefield wherein you accidentally spawn a trap and have your entire guild brutally murdered, it can be nice to return home to a loving wife who has already prepared dinner.
7. Tomoya and Nagisa from Clannad
MAL: 8.08
When entering into a relationship, realistically there are only two outcomes. You either get married, or you break up. Ultimately the goal of any coupling is to start a family. Not necessarily having children but starting your own family even if that simply consists of the two of you. Nagisa and Tomoya start their pairing at a very young age and never lose sight of their love until Nagisa’s tragic end.
Nagisa and Tomoya are the high school sweethearts of anime couples. Fate blessed their union at a tender age and they never stopped loving each other. Relationships are hard work, and it takes both sides to put in the effort to make it work. When going through tough times, walking away can sometimes seem like the easier option. However, if the relationship is worth fighting for, you may just end up together forever like Nagisa and Tomoya.
8. Edward and Winry from Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood
MAL: 9.21
People often talk poorly about the ‘friendzone’ and the impossibility of escaping it. Well if Ed and his four foot nothing stature managed to find a way to climb out, what’s your excuse? Becoming fiends with someone before entering into a relationship can be incredibly beneficial in determining whether you actually enjoy this person’s company when they are fully clothed.
Marriage is forever and that once tight body rippling with biceps or that two-dimensional waist that cannot be seen side-on, will age just like the rest of us. It can be disheartening to uncover that the model you married in their prime turns out to be less interesting than a baked potato. Edward and Winry have no such worries as they already share common interests and personalities, which they uncovered during their long-term friendship. So the next time someone asks to be your friend, don’t count yourself out just yet. who knows what could happen tomorrow?
9. Kaguya and Shirogane from Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai: Tensai-tachi no Renai Zunousen (Kaguya-sama: Love is War)
MAL: 8.44
Pride can be a dangerous sin when neither party wants to open themselves up to the possibility of being rejected. If you spend your days hoping that one day Cupid’s arrow will find its way into your crush’s eyes, blinding them into a romantic three flight fall down the stairs into your arms, you’re going to be waiting a long time. Life is not that elegant I think you’ll find. Nothing in life will come to you if you do not chase it. Your perfect partner will not one day be delivering your pizza asking for a larger tip I’m afraid.
Kaguya and Shirogane both cannot bring themselves to confess and, as such, they miss out on what could potentially be multiple months of happiness were they to just be together. Being in a couple is not a competition, it is a series of compromises. There should never be a “me vs. you” dynamic, it should always be, “us vs. the problem”. Despite us not advising you to follow in the footsteps of these two, watching them both toy with the other when they have the upper hand is incredibly entertaining to watch and gives a good lesson on what not to do with your partner.
Continue reading Kaguya-sama from where the anime stopped by purchasing the manga. This is the best way to support your mangaka.
10. Takeo and Rinko from Ore Monogatari!! (My Love Story!!)
MAL: 7.97
You’re ugly and no-one will ever love you! Good, now that I have your attention, let’s talk about why this statement is completely false. Takeo is big, foreboding, and not conventionally attractive. What he lacks in physical beauty, however, he more than makes up for in his soft and morally righteous heart. No-one can seem to excavate deep enough into Takeo’s core to witness this kindness apart from Rinko.
A cliché is a cliché for a reason and the phrase, ‘never judge a book by its cover’ will always hold some level of truth. Looking past physical traits and focusing on a personality that meshes well with yours is how to ensure a perfect coupling. Rinko is often teased by her friends due to her attraction to such a behemoth that is Takeo. However, she never lets this get in the way of how she feels.

11. Louise and Saito from Zero no Tsukaima (Familiar of Zero)
MAL: 7.34
Jealousy is really just a compliment, wouldn’t you agree. To imagine that one’s partner could love them so much, that even the mere notion of conversing with a different member of the opposite sex, would ignite a passionate hailstorm of violence to rain down from the heavens. Louise is a tsundere. Not just your every day “b-baka!” tsundere, however. A tsundere with such a debilitating need to punish her lover that it borders on domestic violence. Maybe this is commonplace in the isekai world of Tristain but I can’t help but wonder where the authorities are when Louise commences her endless whipping!
While obviously not to this degree, a little jealousy shows your partner that you are still interested in them. Jealousy, at a moderate level, can even be quite endearing. Just be sure to turn off the Bluetooth tracker you hid in your partner’s cereal at regular intervals, to ensure their stomach does not suffer too much radiation poisoning.
12. Yuuji and Shana from Shakugan no Shana
MAL: 7.53
Oh, Kugimiya Rie. Is it possible for you to voice act someone who is not a tsundere? Jokes aside, coming from the same voice actress and Louise, here we have Shana making her debut onto the list. Yuuji and Shana’s relationship is not too dissimilar to Louise and Saito, only Shana is more so disinterested in love due to her obligatory role as a Flame Haze.
However, as time progresses, Shana realizes that she does in fact hold feelings for Yuuji. Many of you certainly have been in a situation where that girl or guy you brushed to the side for the better part of the semester, one day comes into class and takes off their glasses for the first time ever. Not such a stick in the mud now, are they? While with Shana and Yuuji, this development takes a multitude of seasons, the premise remains concrete. Community’s Jeff Winger puts it best: “There’s nothing to stop anyone of us from looking at any of the others as a sexual prospect.”
Don’t count out the weird kid in your class just because he eats paste and talks to the wall. He just might surprise you if given the chance.
13. Yuuri and Viktor from Yuri!!! on Ice
MAL: 7.93
Excuse me. Did I say that the crowd favorite of anime couples were Asuna and Kirito? I misspoke. This is the real deal here people and one of BL anime’s most loved pairings! What started as a teacher-student dynamic, eventually progresses to the point where the anime couple has no choice but to sever their formal relationship in the hope of something more.
I think everyone on the planet has had a crush on their teacher at some point. Maybe not a teacher specifically, but someone above you or older than you who was constantly out of reach. Yuuri and Viktor prove the haters wrong but in most cases, you need to let that person go.
14. Hirotaka and Narumi from Wotaku ni Koi wa Muzukashii (Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku)
MAL: 7.97
Hobbies are a cornerstone of any relationship and this is no different in the world of anime couples. Spending time together and enjoying each other’s company is one thing but truly there is no greater joy than taking part in a shared activity or interest. Both Hirotaka and Narumi are embarrassed by their otaku interests and attempt to covertly hide them. It is only when they discover each other, that they learn to accept their true feelings and ignore the nay-sayers.
Regardless of what you like to do in life during your free time, whether you like to paint model trains, collect toenail clippings or hang your taxidermy projects from the roof rafters – finding that special someone to assist in the carcass stuffing makes it all the more enjoyable. Wotakoi is proof that even otaku, the self reclusive, socially awkward and painfully shy people that they are, can date under the right circumstances
15. Araragi and Senjougahara from Bakemonogatari
MAL: 8.36
Rarely do harem anime have the courage to have their protagonist confess his or her love. Obviously so as should they do so, the love hexagon carrying the show’s premise would crumble into dust. That is why the Monogatari franchise is one that should be looked to for inspiration as it managed to create a relatively solid harem after having its protagonist enter into a relationship around the third episode!
Araragi and Senjougahara have a very unique dynamic in the world of anime couples. One of the essential reasons for this is that the two are rarely seen in the same scene together after the first season. After this anime couple makes their relationship official, Araragi is tasked with assisting the other members of his harem (the grind never stops, am I right?). However, wherever Araragi goes, whatever he is doing and whoever he is with, he is still the boyfriend of Senjougahara (portrayed excellently in his rejection of Hanekawa, for example).
Couples do not need to be joined at the hip to function. It is perfectly acceptable to be an independent person in your relationship with your own interests and your own things to do. Then, whenever you come home from a long day of being your own person, Senjougahara will be there to shove Valentine’s chocolate down your throat (and no that is not a euphemism!).
16. Subaru and TBD from Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu (Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World)
MAL: 8.30
Long have the wars raged for who would be crowned the best anime couple to rule all anime couples. The Rem Stans donned their blue wigs and marched valiantly into battle, whilst the Emilia fanboys grabbed their stuffed cat plushies and sharpened their weapons. Season one of Re:zero leaned towards a Rem ending, but season two placed her into a coma for Emilia to make a comeback. Fatalities were had on both sides and with no end in sight, it seemed only right that we here at Chasing Anime offer you the true answer. The answer to which girl is better is…
Whichever one you feel like, bro.
While it may be difficult for us Otaku to understand, but some people out there do have the difficulty of multiple potential partners. I know right, it’s crazy! Should you ever find yourself lucky enough to be in said situation, unsure of who you should choose, take the advice from the Re:zero veteran keyboard warriors. Avoid the yellow legal pad of pros and cons for each person. Avoid the gambling coin flip. Deep down, you already know which person makes you happier, so be a man (or woman) and make the decision.
Or you could just be a greedy playboy like Ichika Orimura from Infinite Stratos, never make a decision ever, drive viewers crazy, and stay a dense virgin forever!
17. Mitsuha and Taki from Kimi no Na wa (Your Name)
MAL: 8.99
Remember when you were a child. That girl in your class who you truly, truly hated but you just couldn’t understand why. So you pushed her into the dirt and pulled at her pigtails during recess. Still, you just could not decipher why you held such strong feelings for this innocent person. Years later, you will come to realize that it was love all along.
It is a very well known and scientific fact that the part of the brain responsible for making you want to tear someone’s heart out in blind rage, is also the same part that wants to take said heart, caress it gently, before returning it to the now-deceased partner you stole it from. Oftentimes those who make us feel the angriest or irritated offer a challenger that can be just as enticing as it is infuriating. Mitsuha and Taki take turns ruining each other’s lives before they come to realize their feelings for one another and become a certified anime couple by the movie’s finale. Don’t let anger stand in the way of a potential pairing.
18. Takaki and Akari from Byousoku 5 Centimeter (5 Centimeters Per Second)
MAL: 7.76
Sometimes, everything just goes perfectly. You meet the perfect person, they’re funny, intelligent, kind, and paid for the bill! All you have to do is suppress the crazy long enough to justify proposing to this angel. But wait…what? They’re moving away next week! You’ve got to be kidding me!!
Long-distance relationships are tough and nowhere is this hardship expressed better than in 5 Centimeters Per Second. A story spanning years of missed opportunities, sorrow, and anger, all in an attempt to recapture that perfect relationship of the past. Most people will say that long-distance relationships are never worth investing in. That the time apart from one another will seem to drag on for an eternity until you next meet. That they only ever end in turmoil. What do I think? Well, why don’t you see what happens to Takaki and Akari and then make your mind up?
19. Zero Two and Hiro from Darling in the Franxx
MAL: 7.35
Zero two and Hiro start their relationship in a very imbalanced way. Zero two will constantly flirt and tease hiro to the point of blushing embarrassment on hiros part. Hiro often asks zero two to open up about her feelings but she constantly brushes him off, only ever seeming to express her anger when in dire situations. On occasion she will kiss or hug hiro to express her gratitude but these moments are few and far between.
Sometimes, it can be easy to wear a mask to protect oneself. Hiding behind a humorous facade in fear of opening up about yourself. Zero two was overjoyed when Hiro seemed accepting of her horns but could not bring herself to express her love. By the end of the show, the two eventually confess and their reincarnations meet under a cherry blossom tree. Franxx’s message is that love is eternal in both this life and the next. Do not let fear keep you from being yourself. A true partner will love you just the way you are
20. Gray and Juvia from Fairy Tail
MAL: 7.71
Did you ever love someone who just didn’t like you back? In Juvia’s case, her mismatch is with shirtless heartthrob Gray Fullbuster. It can be disappointing when you courageously profess your feelings from someone only to have them spat back in your face. This does not deter Juvia however as she relentlessly pursues the man she loves.
While we at Chasing Anime do not condone stalking at the Juvia level and do condone knowing when no means no, be sure to see if there is room for exploration before accepting your rejection. Perhaps a grandiose gesture or display of affection is needed in proving your love for this person. Just be sure not to present yourself in such a way as Juvia does or you might end up in jail for indecent exposure very soon.
21. Tatsumi and Mine from Akame ga Kill
MAL: 7.56
This one might be slightly confusing for some people who only watched the Akame ga Kill anime, as the manga storyline differentiates itself substantially from the animated adaptation. Later into the manga’s storyline, Tatsumi and Mine confess their love for each other after a grueling battle.
Sometimes, it can be easy to overlook what you have until it is ripped away from you. Living in such a dangerous world of assassins, Tatsumi and Mine risk their lives on a daily basis. Eventually, it becomes difficult to play the long game when at any moment you could be killed by extenuating circumstances. While not to the same degree, in real life, be sure not to take for granted those in your life. One day you may turn around and they have grown tired of waiting.

22. Hinata and Yui from Angel Beats!
MAL: 8.17
To have and to hold from this day forward, for better for worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do us part. Marriage is a sacred vow and, as previously mentioned, one of only two outcomes should you enter into a relationship with someone. That means being with that person for the rest of your life. In the good times, and in the bad.
A bedridden Yui is unable to complete any of the activities she wants to do. Hinata takes it upon himself to do everything he can in order to make her as comfortable as possible. It can be a scary thought if your partner falls ill and you are forced to care for them. However, Hinata never looks at such things as obligatory. He loves his partner and would do everything in his power to make her wishes come true.
23. Chiyo and Umetaro from Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun (Monthly Girls’ Nozaki-kun)
MAL: 7.98
We’ve all be in the position where your crush will not pick up on any of the subtle hints you blatantly lay out for them. Chiyo has this exact problem as no matter what she does, Umetaro just cannot seem to open his eyes enough to realize her feelings. Head over heels in love with him, Chiyo eventually becomes Umetaro’s mangaka assistant. In such a prime position with lots of opportunities for alone time, will she be able to make her hopeful relationship come true?
I think the lesson we can all take from Chiyo is that guys are stupidly oblivious. No matter how much you think that a hand touch, prolonged stare, or exaggerated laugh would give the impression that perhaps there are romantic feelings present, this is never the case. Please, women, do all us men a favor. If you like us, tattoo the confession to your forehead and maybe, if you’re lucky enough to have him remove his gaze from the computer screen for long enough to read it, you just might have a brand new boyfriend.

24. Kurisu and Okabe from Steins;Gate
MAL: 9.12
While Steins;Gate has a storyline more complicated than the relationship of most anime couples, the relationship between Makise Kurisu and Okabe Rintarou is one on the cuter side. Part of the enjoyment in being with a partner is the sharing of humor. This could be a similar taste in sitcoms or stand up comedy. However, in this case, it is in the playful teasing that each party exacts upon the other.
Okabe constantly bullies Kurisu by calling her Christina and Kurisu in turn retaliates by making fun of Okabe’s mad scientist poses. It is a healthy back and forth with no underlying meaning. Eventually, Kurisu even comes around to the scientist lab coat going to show that sometimes joking can actually lead to a better understanding between partners.
25. Sakuta and Mai from Seishun Buta Yarou wa Bunny Girl Senpai no Yume wo Minai (Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai)
MAL: 8.40
Mai struggles with adolescence syndrome resulting in no one being able to see her. To combat this and test the limits of her illness, she dons a bunny outfit and parades up and down the library to see if anyone notices. At the start of their relationship, Mai is cold and distant to Sakuta. Of course, she is going through and incredible ordeal and one that most, if not everyone, would not believe in the slightest. Sakuta however, is different.
Having a loving partner is something we all strive to attain. Yes, there is a physical and emotional connection to be had in such a relationship. However, having someone to rely on, no matter what issues you may be going through, is what being a true couple is all about. This anime couple in particular learns to express themselves and open up about their problems, as opposed to keeping everything bottled up. When you having a partner, you don’t have to lift that baggage alone anymore. Someone else is there to help pick up the slack.
26. Vegeta and Bulma from Dragon Ball
MAL: 8.01
Vegeta and Bulma have been married for twenty years by the time of Dragon Ball GT. Like Naruto and Hinata, they are the parents of the anime couples. Spending such a long time with someone invites progression in the way of marriage and children and Vegeta and Bulma do just that. They push their child to do the best he can and while they love each other very much, they also give themselves over to assisting their child.
Making sacrifices is important in any relationship especially when you have a child together. No longer can you focus on solely you or your partner as your child comes before everything. Should you be nearing this step in your relationship be sure that you are ready to stop watching anime or playing games as much. Someone else needs your attention much more.
27. Kousei and Kaori from Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso (Your Lie in April)
MAL: 8.77
it isn’t uncommon to become miserable and fed up with the world around you. Oftentimes, if left to one’s own devices, these negative thoughts can spiral out of control. However, all it takes is meeting that one special person to completely turn you day, if not you life, completely around.
Kousei does not enjoy playing the piano after the passing of his mother. However, once Kaori, a talented violinist, begins playing with him, his entire outlook on life drastically changes. I’m sure many of you have had stressful days at work or school. Coming home to a smile can change what would have been a terrible day into one that you’ll remember for years to come.
28. Ken and Touka from Tokyo Ghoul
MAL: 7.81
Being in a couple means always being there for the person you love. Upon being transformed into a ghoul and undergoing many many hardships, Kaneki Ken could very well have easily fallen into a pit of depression. Luckily, there was always someone by his side through thick and think to help him out.
Touka starts her relationship with Ken more so as a teacher, helping him acclimate to life as a ghoul. However, she proves time and again her ability to be there for Ken no matter what he is going through either physically or mentally. Someone like that deserves to be kept by your side.

29. Kamina and Yoko from Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann
MAL: 8.67
Entering into a relationship is, in a way, akin to embarking on an adventure with another person. Nowhere better is this brand new adventure expressed than in the great anime of Gurren Lagann, and nowhere better is the duality of this adventure expressed than with Kamina and Yoko.
After escaping from his underground ‘prison’ Kamina finds himself on the surface and through many trials and tribulations, we are graced with this sweet moment. Having someone to rely on is always great in a relationship and who better to rely on than the smooth-talking Kamina himself.
30. Takagi and Nishikata from Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san (Teasing Master Takagi-san)
Takagi and Nishikata are the youngest entries onto this list, but their relationship is just as adorable. As can be expected from a pair this young, the concept of love has quite matured enough to the point where they are able to recognize its presence.
Remember when you were young, and you pushed that girl into the mud or pulled at her pigtails. You couldn’t quite figure out why, but for some reason, you wanted her to notice you. Takagi undergoes a similar process in that she is constantly teasing Nishikata with every chance she gets. An absolutely hilarious anime to watch as Nishikata tries his best to seek revenge against Takagi for her constant bullying.
31. Shoutarou and Kyouko from Skip Beat!
MAL: 8.14
Now that we’ve reached the end of the true blue anime couples, let’s look at some honorable mentions (or in some cases – dishonorable). Upon realizing that her beloved boyfriend, the man to who Kyouko Mogami had devoted her entire life, had only seen her as a means to advance his career, the two end their relationship. Dejected, heartbroken, and unsure of what to do in life, she sets her sights on revenge by entering into the entertainment industry in order to spite her famous ex.
Sometimes, it is really painful when someone who you thought to devote your life to, who you thought to live with, turns out to see you like a free maid. Even when you realize it, disbelief begets grief and although you grow to love this person, the lingering feelings of romance still remain. Eventually, you will come to learn that it is ok to cry and it is ok to feel down. Time heals all wounds.
32. Yuno and Yukiteru Mirai Nikki (Future Diary)
MAL: 7.57
Juvia’s level of attachment is one thing but Yuno takes stalking to new levels of crazy. Positively infatuated with Amano Yukiteru, she kidnaps him, force-feeds him, and even cleans up after his bathroom visits.
While being in a relationship opens yourself up to closer levels of affection, it is important to set boundaries. You are still two separate people at the end of the day and trust is the foundation that will keep your relationship afloat. Sometimes seeds of distrust will plant in your mind about possible cheating or other infidelities. However, it is never ok to invade someone’s personal privacy. Looking through text messages for example is a line that can break a trusting relationship in a second. Be careful not to follow the same strategies of Gasai Yuno.
33. Yato and Hiyori from Noragami
MAL: 8.02
Hiyori and Yato first meet when Yato, a lesser deity, has no shrines and no followers. Everyone hates his conniving ways and berates him for acting the way he does. Hiyori, however, looks past these comments and strives to find the good beneath Yato’s exterior.
Investing in people is a strange concept. Anyone, can start dating a multi-millionaire with a trust fund and beach house in Miami. It takes real balls to pick up that bum off the street and introduce him to your parents. Jokes aside, it can be very common to fall in love with someone who possibly does not have the best job or the best income. Your parents may try to dissuade you from seeing this person. However, at the end of the day, it is your life and you are free to make your own decisions. Never let anything stand in the way of true love in the same way that Yato and Hiyori did not.
34. Kazuma and Megumin from Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo! (KonoSuba: God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World!)
MAL: 8.16
Kazuma and Megumin are just so adorable we had to include them on the list. Progressing their relationship even further past the anime, they have entered into a ‘more than friends, less than lovers’ type of situation after Megumin confesses her feelings.
Watching this relationship grow is hilarious to watch. Relationships are supposed to be fun and you should not be with someone who makes you feel down. Laughter is integral to happiness and finding someone to brighten your days the way anime couples (specifically Kazuma and Megumin) did ours.
35. Makoto and Kotonoha from School Days
MAL: 5.72
Relationships can be tough. Did you ever get into an argument with your significant other so immense that you just…you just…YOU JUST WANTED TO KILL THEM! For most of us, those feelings of rage will start and end with a small outburst such as this. However, with Makoto, it seems she has other plans.
School Days has become infamous in the anime community for its…interesting storyline and absolutely shocking (ridiculous?) endings. This probably needs not be said but just in case, let me make this perfectly clear.
PLEASE DO NOT KILL YOUR SIGNIFICANT OTHER!
36. Zero and C.C (and Lelouch and Karen) from Code Geass
